Two Portraits of the designer, Edgard Linares
Edgard Linares is one half of the design partnership Bowles and Linares. Edgard, who is from Bogota, and his wife Sharon started their eponymous studio creating lighting and other structures in the early 90’s. Together they have created some of the most original works of contemporary design of this era.
Edgard is the most naturally gifted engineer and Sharon is a singular artist. Together they comprise one of the most surprising and talented partnerships.
I am privileged to know both and work next door to Edgard. I have taken many pictures of him but his face is so mobile it is hard to capture him satisfactorily. I like this picture because it comes close to seeing the silence in him.
In this image is another portrait I made of him some time ago which he has stuck on a wall in his studio.
I shot the portrait on an iPhone using Photogene to edit.
Visit the Bowles and Linares website at www.bowlesandlinares.co.uk
Love these photographs by Leslie Jones (prev'ly unknown to me)

Some photographs from the QPR v Doncaster Rovers’ match 1-1-14
On the wettest and first day of the year Doncaster travelled all the way to Loftus Road (London) to go one up before half time only to be beaten 2-1 in the last minute. And it pissed down all the way. My heart goes out to the northerners.
